What are Phobias?
A Phobia is an irrational fear
that is triggered by a situation or object and generally makes you avoid whatever is the cause of your anxiety. This
fear is very real to the person experiencing it and can have a limiting effect on their lives.
Phobias are a learned
behaviour and although they are not inherited, if someone who is close to you has a phobia, these feelings can sometimes be
transferred to you as well.
Types of Phobia
If you suffer from a phobia you are not alone, many people suffer from a wide variety of fears. It is possible to
be phobic about anything, from dust to trees; the important thing is to take action and control the fear, regardless
of what it is.

- Fear of Flying this is a situation phobia. Other examples
of this include; fear of lifts, fear of enclosed spaces (claustrophobia) and fear of open spaces (agrophobia).
